@rajitsingh May need an elilo build if the system is UEFI and doesn't support old BIOS. Nothing stopping you using EFI GRUB in a pinch tho

@rajitsingh It does, and it still works with everything, so there is no reason to change. GRUB only gets worse with time.

@lonestaritaly It's becoming more stable lately; it is slightly slower than ext4, but it has many nice features. not so useful without those

@lonestaritaly I'd recommend #btrfs on !slackware only if you're planning on really using it; setting up snapshotting, mirroring, and such.

@kwabbles arch is just wonderful for experimenting w/ in VMs and the like, though. under a slack host of course. ; )

@slurry I believe SBo has a template slackbuild that is commented. Might poke around for that.

@slurry The scripts are pretty simple, so adjust as needed. If it's a more recent vers. of the prog you may need different build flags, etc.

@slurry The major differences in slackbuilds between 12.1 and 13.1 is support for diff. architectures. Not much other than that.

@mjjzf I was just playing regular MP3s over an NFS share, and then it froze and the winow stopped updating. Had to -9 it. Hrm.

@mjjzf I had that happen the other day for the first time. I was doing some funky stuff over NFS though so I figured that was the culprit.
