that’s not so easy: You cannot separate freedom from others as long as you live in a world with limited dimensions… (or so)
-
Friendica has DRM???
-
I normally use about 100GiB/month, but I already had 1 spike up to 500GiB and I don’t want to lose the site if I put up something popular :)
-
my server does not only run status.net, but also 2 drupal instances and some more stuff. It’s main feature is unlimited bandwidth, though :)
-
Besides: I just read about Red, and that might provide enough benefit to make me choose a permissive project friendica.com/node/59
-
the federation accepts any kind of people and any kind of software (even #pumpio ;-) )
-
ok, that one’s evil ;)
-
So we do not go into #diaspora, but join the #federation, when we setup our own status.net servers to compensate for identi.ca? ☺
-
@sandersch@identi.ca I've watched many Star Trek movies and/or series
-
@erkanyilmaz are you a trekkie?
-
welcome to the #federation :-)
-
@macgirvin: So: I disagree with you on some details, but I still think that your choice is great! See Sayre’s Law ☺ ur1.ca/dwelr
-
@macgirvin: We differ in where we put the emphasis, and both choices are valid: Both are compatible with free software.
-
@macgirvin: You cannot have 100% freedom for you and 100% freedom for others at the same time. Their weighting is the choice to take.
-
@macgirvin: More exactly: To me freedom in !freesoftware is about choice (freedom for me) and responsibility (freedom for others).
-
@macgirvin: My freedom ends where your freedom begins. Take a complex system (life) and that is no longer black and white.
-
@macgirvin: To me freedom in !freesoftware is about choice (choosing my own path) and responsibility (being a good neighbor).
-
Where are you on the social structure continuum? Power to the individual or to the community - or something in between? ur1.ca/dwe9a
-
@macgirvin: …and keep in mind how and where your choice affects others. Reminds me of the individualism vs. community axis: ur1.ca/dwe9a

yepp :)
