Where can I buy crystals and stones?
I am looking to buy healing crystals and stones to use for both healing and protection. I hate ordering things online, is there any type of conventional store that sells crystals in the New Jersey (ocean county) area that I can check out? All I can find are stores online that sell them.

I am not sure about black crystals (Smoky Quartz), but when I was first starting out I bought my stones and most of my crystals from the local museum. Most museums have a gift shop and they sell stones and minerals. Where I live you can fill a bag with a variety of different stones for three or four dollars.
They are polished so they are not as powerful as unpolished stones, which are the same as they were when they were found in the natural environment, but I have never been in a situation where an unpolished stone had to be used. In the past, polished stones always worked just as well for what I needed to do. So unless you are planning on doing very powerful magic the polished stones from museums should work just fine.
Here are just a few of the stones you can find at nearly any museum:
Amethyst
