We'll start with Hello World, but by the end of the workshop you should be able to start building a real app. By publishing "quality apps" for WP7 you can earn some pretty cool prizes. You will need to bring your own hardware running either Windows 7 or Vista to participate. Please see the following text from Paul: The things you need to pre-install on your machines are: · Windows 7 or Windows Vista (XP, Mac, Linux are not supported) · Developer Tools: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=27570 o Please note that if you have Visual Studio 2010 installed already, but have not installed SP1 for VS2010, you must install that service pack first (link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23691) · Training Kit (if you want to learn via the training kit): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/WindowsPhoneTrainingCourse Please note that installing the tools from scratch is roughly a 2 hour exercise so please encourage attendees to come prepared. Installing SP1 if you have VS2010 already installed can also be a lengthy process. ===== http://hackguelph.ca/ updateURL : http://twitter.com/hackguelph Location: 349 Woolwich Street http://threefortynine.com/ Schedule: * Your topic here! * Social coding (until 9:00) * After party at the Woolwich Arrow http://www.woolwicharrow.ca/ I am pleased to announce that ThreeFortyNine has agreed to continue providing meeting space.
