Paul Laberge, a Technical Evangelist at Microsoft Canada, will be delivering a three hour Windows Phone 7 development workshop. We'll start with Hello World, but by the end of the workshop you should be able to start building a real app.
By publishing "quality apps" for WP7 you can earn some pretty cool prizes.
You will need to bring your own hardware running either Windows 7 or Vista to participate.
Please see the following text from Paul:
The things you need to pre-install on your machines are:
· Windows 7 or Windows Vista (XP, Mac, Linux are not supported)
· Developer Tools: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=27570
o Please note that if you have Visual Studio 2010 installed already, but have not installed SP1 for VS2010, you must install that service pack first (link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=23691)
· Training Kit (if you want to learn via the training kit): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/WindowsPhoneTrainingCourse
Please note that installing the tools from scratch is roughly a 2 hour exercise so please encourage attendees to come prepared. Installing SP1 if you have VS2010 already installed can also be a lengthy process.
