  1. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn The GNU General Public License , Richard Stallman Political Notes , Christopher Allan Webber , Richard Fontana

@cwebber @fontana @rms, people are bugging me for the Los Angeles !GPL again. We gotta make a plan for this thing at some point.

  2. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn Thomas Hochmann

@hochmann, of course, I run exclusively with #NoScript. I guess I should reset expectations & be glad how much I can actually get done. :)

  3. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn GNU's Not Unix , GNU mediagoblin , Christopher Allan Webber

My sponsored commit for my donation to !GNU !MediaGoblin says "It doesn't do much…". Should I be amused or insulted? :) http://ur1.ca/dzj82

  4. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn Christopher Allan Webber

@cwebber, I basically agree with you. It's also clear our Web culture doesn't care if blind people can use the Web, either.

  5. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn x1101

@x1101, I don't know that there is a difference between those 2 things. Browsers install Javascript on your computer (usually temporarily)

  6. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn

This kind of thing shows the FaiF Web is dead. Why does #Google ask me to install proprietary #Javascript to read text on blogspot blogs?

  7. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn Quiliro Ordóñez

@quiliro, That's not what was occurring in the situation I mentioned. Experienced politicians were manipulating a situation (& still are).

  8. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn Quiliro Ordóñez

@quiliro, of course, but someone who does that is somewhat unscrupulous. That's somewhatf my point there.

  9. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn

BTW, I've always disliked #Fugazi & didn't realize the guy from #Minor_Threat founded #Fugazi until now. I know less than I thought,it seems

  10. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn jezra

@jezra, I had *no* idea the guys from #Minor_Threat did a side project until you said that. OTOH, are we tempting the #deletionist s?

  11. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn

I should note, of course, that @dbs *always* knows the name of any band I can remember, which doesn't help b/c he & I are the same age.

  12. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn

I read #Wikipedia pages for 1980s hardcore bands & realize: if your culture was obscure subculture, you feel *even* older when it's forgotten

  13. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn

#rsync 's --inplace : where've you been all my life? I should read rsync(1) more often: just the option I needed for nearly-full disks

about 8 days ago from web
  14. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn

At least 1x/week, I have an anthropomorphic thought: rerunning a command many times is boring for my computer: same instructions, over & over

  15. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn

@cwebber, I'm not sure we should try to correct every clueless blogger who says something asinine about the #LGPL. I say again:Eternal Sept.

  16. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn

@tedgould, man, we really do live in "Eternal September" of Free Software licensing confusions, don't we? That sounds very depressing!

about 10 days ago from web in context
  17. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn Ted Gould

@tedgould, how does that #LGPL fear manifest itself? What specifically are you thinking of?

about 10 days ago from web in context
  18. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn

Sorry for the incorrect assumption; I was using you as a proxy for the Javascript developres who think it can be assumed present.

about 11 days ago from web in context
  19. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn warp

Oh, I was actually thinking of corporate websites. It was Conservancy's bank's website that led me to start this thread, actually.

about 11 days ago from web in context
  20. Bradley M. Kuhn Bradley M. Kuhn

@warp, that part I agree w/. My usual point to them is to ask whether their website is easily usable by a blind person w/ a screen reader.
