@seancarmody unfortunately geonames.org seems to have more down- than up-time :-( So we moved to their commercial service for now !

@zach yes, very useful. There are quite a few apps using the Twitpic API to post pics and updates. They would be easy to adapt to SN !

@evan how do you deal with the downtimes of geonames.org ? It impacts the performance of the bleeper.de site quite a bit :-( !statusnet
