@lefty wasn't the !FSF but #RMS. You need to understand the history of the situation to intepret his message. check http://ur1.ca/chk5 !gnu

@danthux Despite misperceptions to the contrary, we're not at war here. No one swore a loyalty oath to the "free software movement".
-
@smaffulli Your answer is to divide the community with free-floating name-calling? That shows an inability to argue the issue on its merits.
-
@danthux You're using an "article" from BoycottNovell to support your argument? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
-
@smaffulli Simple answer: if you live outside the US, those patents probably aren't enforceable. In any case, there's no s/w w/o patent risk
-
@lefty all sw has patent risk, but patents owned by Microsoft are worse because of its history. EU has swpats too. Me not comfortable enough
-
@smaffulli Well, don't use Mono, then, that's your right. Just stop insisting that everyone else be "free" the way you tell them to.
-
@lefty don't get me wrong: I don't 'insist': I stated my opinion, just like RMS did. For me the issue is closed until MS makes a U turn
-
@lefty that is hardly a reassurance, isn't it? Plus the "probably" part seems too optimistic. No patent-free zone in Europe (yet)
-
@smaffulli It makes me wonder why people are still talking (and talking and talking) about it, that being the case...
