Should know better than to look at the women section of portals. Dunno what these "women" are they think they are writing for

@iphigenie You might find solace in knowing that the "men" section is no better and just as loaded with strange stereotypical articles.
-
@liotier you're right, they write for another species in the men's section too - and even more unfair often there isn't a men's section.
-
@iphigenie No men's section... Another one of the hints that accumulate to point out that men are the new disadvantaged minority...
-
@liotier you are disadvantaged indeed, oppressed even :D
-
@iphigenie I'm glad you recognize my oppressed status, lost in a sea of oestrogens with 3 and soon maybe 4 other family members being women
-
@iphigenie Humor aside, contraception has forever shifted the balance of power, even if anachronistic sexism still lingers in change's wake.
-
But of course I know that merely shifting the balance of power back to equality does in no way make the former oppressor the new oppressed.
-
@liotier We're so good at being blind to our own privileges, fixing imbalances can feel unfair to some even when no privileges are lost
-
@liotier there are some areas where men are unfairly discriminated, the area of child custody and access to children being the biggest one
-
@iphigenie As a divorcee from someone whose household's income is higher than mine, I testify that the courts are issuing sexist rulings...
-
@iphigenie To ensure comfort of the child I don't rock the boat, but the conditions of a "successful divorce" for a man are hard to swallow.
