   the only downside of identi.ca so far: even though I logged in with openID, I still had to set a password for the API.

     @skoop The IM bot is down as well ATM. And there is an openid-bug. If you create your account with openid it's impossible to set a password.

     @xiffy well, I was able to set a password, even though I used openID. so that bug is fixed. and the IM I don't use luckily ;)
