     @prcutler, thanks. My gut is says that newer !android phones from Verizon won't even be as FaiF as the HTC Dream was. I'm hoping, though.

     @bkuhn must disagree re: !android. What good is a free OS without a free ecosystem? !Maemo has Debian repos, not a proprietary marketplace.

     @balleyne You can install non-marketplace apps on Android (e.g. !denta ;-) ) so it's not as bad as iPhone but yes a deb repo is better.

     @bkuhn When you say "phone" do you mean using non-free cellular networks? SIP over WiFi is my primary means of communication these days!
