@elsua I would love a tool to match my twitter to identi.ca subscribtions - find anything?

      Wednesday, 23-Jul-08 12:01:33 UTC
    • Luis Suarez Luis Suarez Nick Hortovanyi

@hortovanyi Me, too, Nick, but while that gets implemented at some point in time, it's nice to also micro-share different views all over

@elsua you just have to wait until XMPP is working again (the bot must have crashed), then you'll get the real-time experience ;-)

@curiousmitch Hi Mitch! No, I haven't found it just yet myself either, but as soon as I do I'll give you a shout. Thinking on building slow

@elsua different personas in different envs maybe? .. do u think your online persona is different from your real world one?

    • Luis Suarez Luis Suarez Nick Hortovanyi

@hortovanyi It is not, it is pretty much the same. What I was talking about is I feel I got plenty more to micro-share & 2 tools seems ok

@hortovanyi I already feel I tweet quite a bit, so load balancing a bit would be a good thing, methinks...

@marcokaiser Oh, nice! I should go further and read some more about it. Will I find more details at Thwirl's homepage?

      @elsua http://blog.twhirl.org will do ;-)

@marcokaiser Brilliant! I will keep an eye on it! Thanks for sharing along! Going to have lunch, then pack the suitcase... Back later

@marcokaiser the XMPP bot is crashed? I've got the little yellow lightbulb going here, no errors...?

    • Mark Masterson Mark Masterson Luis Suarez

@elsua the interesting aspect of identi.ca (laconi.ca) is the federated bit, OpenMicroBlogging, etc. Scalability = result.

      Wednesday, 23-Jul-08 12:22:38 UTC
    • Marco Kaiser Marco Kaiser Mark Masterson

@mastermark the lightbulb in the bottom right says twhirl is connected to your jabber server. but it seems as identi.ca isn't sending msgs

@mastermark is there anything special with your latest replies... I cant see them in the public feed.

Howdy @elsua - funny that "follow xyz", or in my case "follow elsua" doesn't follow, instead it microblogs the text!

      Wednesday, 23-Jul-08 12:25:23 UTC
    • Mark Masterson Mark Masterson John Bäckstrand

@sandos could be. I'm using XMPP, and there seem to be some problems with the daemon at the moment... Interesting.

      Wednesday, 23-Jul-08 12:27:21 UTC
    • Mark Masterson Mark Masterson Marco Kaiser

@marcokaiser Ah, that makes sense. But how are we doing this, then?

      Wednesday, 23-Jul-08 12:28:03 UTC
    • John Bäckstrand John Bäckstrand Mark Masterson

      @mastermark indeed interesting. :)

      Wednesday, 23-Jul-08 12:29:22 UTC
    • Marco Kaiser Marco Kaiser Mark Masterson

@mastermark there's still good old polling ;-) you can use twhirl/identi.ca without IM as well, or it will act as a backup in these cases

      Wednesday, 23-Jul-08 12:30:39 UTC
    • Mark Masterson Mark Masterson Marco Kaiser , John Bäckstrand

@marcokaiser does it? fallback to the HTTP API? Interesting. @sandos says my dents are not visible in public feed - related?

      Wednesday, 23-Jul-08 12:34:05 UTC
    • Marco Kaiser Marco Kaiser Mark Masterson

@mastermark good quesion, I also don't see some of mine there. twhirl uses the HTTP API for posting, not XMPP, as it's more reliable

      Wednesday, 23-Jul-08 12:37:25 UTC
    • Marco Kaiser Marco Kaiser Mark Masterson

@mastermark twhirl even queries the API if you config'd XMPP. will keep it like this until identica's XMPP support is rock solid (not yet)

@elsua Right, I wonder if someone will come up with the ideal tool to keep in touch with all of them and save time - like twhirl and ping.fm

      Wednesday, 23-Jul-08 12:46:43 UTC
    • Luis Suarez Luis Suarez

@martincleaver Yeah, too funny! I wish it'd be much more human-like with regards to the "follow" model. Much easier. Follow xyz / Unfollow

@hortovanyi Starbucks does worse in Aust because we already knew what good coffee was - SBX not an improvement here
