-
@oscon Volunteer in schools. --Nat Torkington
-
@oscon There is no downside to volunteering in schools and helping kids. --Nat Torkington
-
@oscon ohai, grab a coffee and come stop by the Free Software Foundation booth (back right corner).
-
Jono Bacon is giving a hard time to fandom communities in his @oscon talk. :( OTOH, Jono acheived LUG Radio fame doing just that. :)
-
@oscon Kudos to Paul Fenwick for a brilliant session on human dynamics and social engineering.
-
@oscon I am here; follow me so I can be on the big screen

@oscon, @jesse spoke about Prophet today, which is an excellent project. I blogged about it on http://autonomo.us : http://www.ur1.ca/0lj
-
@oscon did/will any1 talk about open source national security. The talk at BIL coupled w/Egyptian photojournalist story piques my curiosity
-
@bkuhn it should.
-
@evan check your e-mail
-
@bkuhn Prophet looks interesting, conceptually spot on, would love to see a technical critique
-
@bkuhn I may be offering to host it, but it depends on your answer to this: would autonomo.us be a domain to host it under? Who's the admin?
-
@paulv We on autonomo.us are quite autonomous so have not discussed it yet. We should. We could probably use donated admin work, I bet!
-
@bkuhn thanks for the nice writeup. Would you mind adjusting the link to http://syncwith.us ?
-
@mlinksva Yeah,I see Prophet is a start. Important thing is that people are starting such work and doing freedom-respecting things with it.
-
@jesse I have modified the link on http://www.ur1.ca/0lj. Thanks for doing Prophet; it is an important step. Also, good talk @oscon, BTW.
-
@oscon 7PM BoF tonight in E142: Legal Help and a Non-profit Home for Your Project; free-as-in-beer drinks: http://www.ur1.ca/0lm
-
@jesse: Also thrilled to see prophet addressing an hugely important piece of this problem. Thanks!
-
@oscon Embedded Programming with FOSS Tools 8pm in E141!
-
@bkuhn oh, I see. I guess Free Software Directory should list AGPLv3'd projects (currently seems none)
-
@mhatta hm, we'll fix that
-
@johnsu01 I guess it's not a technical problem, simply because of a lack of information submission
-
@mako i became an FSF member tuesday at the FSF shindig. the pizza was awesome!
-
@bkuhn What a coincidence. I know an admin that would like to help.
-
@jesse, @bkun, is Prophet using mercurial or another dvcs under the hoof ?
-
@oscon Wish more people had shown up for the ODF/OOXML talk .
-
@bkuhn hey from .pt Brad :) anything interesting at the ODF/OOXML talk at oscon?
-
@bkuhn who presented that talk?
-
@oscon: Nice week, and enjoyed the keynotes from r0ml, mako, and today's on the history of failure especially. Met lots of folks too.
-
@bkuhn, Perl 6 and Parrot could very much use your help (even banging a big drum to find C and PIR and Perl 6 hackers).
-
@proppy - Prophet doesn't use a DVCS under the hood. The semantics you want for a database and for a codebase are significantly different.
-
@jesse Just watched the presentation on Prophet. Looks very cool, thanks!
-
A new Strange Today just released over at www.strangetoday.com - Note the new background music thanks to Russ Woodman @jrwoodman

Disappointed to see that @oscon won't be at Portland next year. Loved Portland. Never been to San Jose. Seen at http://tinyurl.com/4q73vq

I wonder when the schedule and registration for @oscon will be made available.
-
Hey @oscon, when will registration be open? The website has said March 2009 since February, and it's now coming up on April.
