@monkeybritt FLOSS Weekly is sometimes ad-supported to cover production costs. The ads are still far fewer than most shows. :)

@monkeybritt NP. And yes, they do lack a certain hardcore FLOSS attitude sometimes. It's gotten better since Jono is on the team, though.

@monkeybritt Basically, Randal is only interested in some stuff (fair play) and Leo is a cool guy but hasn't got a clue a lot of times TBH.

@fabsh I don't cover Linux distros because you guys do that already, and I'm a "practical" OSS guy, allowing a blend of open and closed S/W

@merlyn I think there need to be shows like FLOSS and shows like LO and TLLTS which are more political. Choice is good! :)

@merlyn it would be "practical" to keep ads from Microsoft away from FLOSS Weekly, unless they are for a FLOSS products or FLOSS integration

@dawisnowonbrainbirdasdouglasawh Finding good sponsors for FW is especially hard, and donations don't happen. Costs must be paid.

@merlyn I know it's typical of radio commercials, but I think an actual Microsoft ad, rather than Leo's voice, would feel less like betrayal

i guess i am just under the assumption that if people like something enough they will support, look how long pbs has been going

@monkeybritt PBS also receives half or more of its funding from Federal Taxes. Leo's not so lucky. :)
