Looks like my OpenSUSE 11.2 review will be the longest so far, over 3600 words at the final edit. I'm wondering if that's a bit much, hmm
-
@dread That's tough because I review distros on my everyday working machine and I wouldn't feel comfortable taking ages to install Gentoo
-
@dread I do plan to look at it but I may need another machine before I do that. I can't be without my machine for 2 days while I work on it
-
@dread I managed Arch on this machine recently though, so I should definitely try when time allows. It's on my list :)
-
@dantheman did you try crux linux?
-
@dantheman yeah, it does take a while to install. Good thing there's an official handbook on how to install it :P
-
@dread Oh yes I'll need that I expect, but I will try it for sure. I needed the Arch beginners guide to get anywhere with that too :)
-
@moikz Not yet but it's on my ever growing TODO list. With Fedora, OpenSUSE, Mandriva and Ubuntu all releasing in the last month I got busy
-
@dantheman it would be nice if you can do a review of crux on your podcast
-
@moikz Sure, a few people have told me about it but I don't think it'll be for some time. I've got too many distros to get through right now
-
@moikz I'll try and get to it before Christmas if possible but time is running out. It may be the New Year. I'll do what I can
-
@dantheman That's a big review! Still looking forward to it! :-)
-
@dantheman Escapes my why you constantly worry about writing *too much*. You're not a dead-tree magazine, embrace that & don't penn yslf in.
-
@fabsh I find reading it back myself a hassle and personally I wouldn't read it if it were on someone else's blog. That's where it come from
-
@fabsh I've edited it all and it sounds good so I won't be shortening it, it's staying at 3600+ words :)
-
@dantheman I'm little weird I guess, but I like reading long entries. So you keep writing them!
-
@mossgarden Thanks for the support, I will do :)
-
@dantheman Well, there are plenty of people who like reading. Ars Technica's Karmic review was 16 pages long... ;)
-
@fabsh: It was very good too. Totally worth the read, in my opinion!
-
@fabsh yeah it's a good review!
-
@fabsh Good point, I wonder how many screen shots they had in those 16 pages. I could probably break this into 16 easily if I tried hehe :)
-
@dantheman A few... ;)
