anyone uses !netbeans on !ubuntu 9.10 with Nimbus L&F? Please tell me how ...
-
@alourie Using the Nimbus LAF is pretty easy. Add "--laf Nimbus" to the command line or shortcut used to start !Netbeans
-
@tamasrepus hey samat, I've tried that with no luck, I get "ui class not found, using default". Using !netbeans 6.7.1 and !ubuntu 9.10
-
@alourie Which JVM are you using? Sun or OpenJDK? And what version? Nimbus came after Sun's JDK hit 1.6r10
-
@tamasrepus I've tried both. Those that come with !ubuntu karmic. I guess u15? Besides, I d/l latest from sun, and it still didn't work...
-
@tamasrepus it's .15: http://pastebin.ca/1692307
-
@alourie Oops, I'm actually getting 1.6u16 from some PPA I previously didn't know I was pulling it from
-
@alourie Regardless, it should work. Are you using Netbeans pkg or dl from web? What JVM is Netbeans using? Check the about dialog
-
@tamasrepus man, thanks! netbeans was using openJdk, I switched to Sun's jdk and it worked! Now netbeans with nimbus on !ubuntu rules...
-
@tamasrepus Really? I guess it is a personal preference, I prefer the looks of it on Mac native - it looks even better than Nimbus or GTK
-
@tamasrepus Besides that, why do I see interface fonts terribly? Is it a java problem or Netbeans? In Eclipse, interface is fine...
-
@tamasrepus bummer. Is there a way to improve it at least a little bit?
-
@alourie Not really, no. That's why I try to stick with OpenJDK and the GTK LAF... it's more up to date than Sun's JDK
