   Why can't we run microblogs on our own sites? You'd think we'd have that whole "blogging but smaller" thing fixed by now.

     @jrconlin That's the point of this service, you can run a identica-compatible blog from your own server and subscribe to it here, or vice v.

     @jrconlin Lots of microblogging thingies around for self-hosting. The problems I think are in the connections and UI. Not *quite* like RSS.
