http://opensource.com/ launched by Red Hat today. (RTing somebody ...)
- Gerard Braad β εζεΎ· repeated this.

Not clear what opensource.com site is supposed to add. Looks mostly like repackaged #Red_Hat website content (& formats poorly in conkeror).
-
@bkuhn In reverse: 1. ongoing WiP, pls comment on problems; 2. repackaged from where? 3. ride on #opensource brand to spread a better way.
-
@quaid, some articles appeared on Red Hat's site previously. Width issue in conkeror. I don't think "open source" is a good brand anyway.
-
@bkuhn Are you interested in reporting and etc. on conkeror width prob? No bug reporting tool (yet?), comment here: http://bit.ly/4GsFVf
-
@quaid, I thought writing to you *was* reporting the bug. Default conkeror install on Debian lenny on 1400x1050 screen has left/right scroll
-
@bkuhn I was "a little" excited that the site launched. After visiting, I was a little disappointed. Not sure what it's for, actually.
-
@chadmccullough,seems it's for what "open source" is always for,"marketing" software freedom to/from ppl uncomfortable talking about freedom
-
@bkuhn you say that like marketing is a bad thing ;)
-
@selenamarie,it usually is. If ppl aren't buying (into) something for what it is,how does lying to them (& inducing buyer's remorse) help?
-
@bkuhn "what it is" isn't obvious. mostly teasing & agree w/u. i just see overuse of 'marketing as evil' when marketing can == better docs
-
@selenamarie, yeah, I agree good communication (good docs) is useful. (I know you are teasing, just seemed a good spot to make a point. :)
-
@bkuhn I guess I just don't understand why people have such a hard time with "freedom"?
