Having a look at the EL84 tubes in my Peavey 30. Damn things are playing up...

@fabsh I can't recall which episode but you mentioned the smell of dusty tubes heating up... I so know that smell. :) Get well soon Peavey.
-
@guitarman Yeah. Looks like I have a power tube going bad. Should be easy to fix. Bad thing is I am trying to record a podcast theme ATM...
-
@fabsh Doah... hey - there's always routing Rakarrack into an Ardour track - there are some decent patches in it. ;)
-
@guitarman I personally don't like guitar effect post-processing at all. Gimme a tube amp mic'd straight, that's more my style. ;)
-
@fabsh Yeah - that's my preference too - sadly I sold my Marshall JCM900 stack for a resonator guitar ...and now I want Marsha back.
-
@fabsh I actually think its time for a nice guitar and amp... I just have to figure out how to make some extra side cash legally. ;)
-
@guitarman Hehehe.... I know that feeling. Well, two EL84s shouldn't be hard to come by. :)
-
@fabsh tude triple rec
-
@guitarman I'd love to have a Bassman. I would have nowhere to unleash that beast, tough...
-
@guitarman you actually used rackarrack piped into ardor and it was suitable? do tell...
-
@alphakamp Let me put it this way - it's more suitable then Guitarix. I like some of the clean sounds. It needs a general use distortion.
-
@guitarman I like the sound of a 6150/5150 or a XXX in my experience it couldnt get close
-
@alphakamp Come to think of it - I'll take that as a challenge. The next track I do will use Rakarrack distortion. :)
-
@alphakamp Your dead on - its quite far away... I'm thinking I would need to use Rakarrack 'Beck' style.
-
@guitarman ah not enough crunch for me, im looking for something more in the realm of a krankenstien :)
-
@alphakamp I found a youtube link... That's some fat and heavy chunk. Very awesome!
-
-
@alphakamp Cool - I can appreciate the music - but after having kids and passing 30 - I don't have that kind of rage inside anymore.
-
@guitarman Im in the same boat, but I still have the ability to call it back up
-
@alphakamp Never to old to rock :)
-
@fabsh I used to own a half stack peavy 5150 make your pants flap loud monster, trust me you WILL find the space to crank it up hehehe
