@bkuhn I am not surprised :-(
-
@bkuhn I detected some confusion, intentional or not, between "Copyright assignment" and "Contributor agreement" (CA vs. CA).
-
@bkuhn you're sadly right. !FS (c) assignment to corp != FSF or fiduciary assignmet as in #FLA (FSFE, KDE): that's what we need

@bkuhn i hate to say it, but the comments dont suprise me. I believe that without a course correction,Ubuntu could even become destructive.

@bkuhn excellent article, sad to see that someone I used to think had done so much for freesoftware is now doing so much to spread FUD

@x1101, #Shuttleworth's not a bad person & I believe he intends to good for FLOSS, but only when it behooves Canonical's for-profit motive.
-
@bkuhn Since Shuttleworth announced his change in role I've become ever more concerned and it's likely I'll move to Arch before the summer.

@bkuhn -- even a for-profit move doesn't mean you can't assign copyright to the fsf though of course...
-
@bkuhn copyright assignment requires trustworthy entities (like the fsf) to work. Canonical does not offer the level of trust required.
-
@bkuhn that is not the case now, and I never could get an answer to that question, so I have no knowledge at all.
