So, what is the most heavily patched distro? Some people on reddit said !gentoo, i'm for !ubuntu
-
@manuelabeledo id say gentoo because theres multiple patches for every package for them to build for different configurations
-
@pm Pretty sure almost all the configuration changes are just done by fiddling ./configure flags, which doesn't even need a patch
-
@manuelabeledo Ubuntu has a reputation for doing this, same with RH. Dunno how accurate that is though
-
@manuelabeledo: Gentoo isn't all that patched, plus the patches go upstream and are transparently applied. Ubuntu just drops stuff on you.
-
@manuelabeledo i will say ubuntu too :) personally i'm happy with the "patching policy" adopted by gentoo (and of course its developers)
-
@rxp by configurations I meant differents arch, compilers, glibc, --as-needed, etc
