     @flare2004 one of our requirements was simplicity. also liked the meta data being stored on the same fs as the data. #ceph looks interesting

     @skwashd lustre is not simple - yes ceph means we can create a 80Tb fs and have it replicated here and in Melbourne, quite easily

     @skwashd yes, we agree, unfortunately our main requirement is speed and glusterfs just doesn't hack it over lustre

     @flare2004 with gluster i can get a simple server going in ~15mins and a client in ~5mins. has limitations but 3.0.2 is pretty nice

     @flare2004 i think our disks will be the bottleneck before gluster
