@douglasawh Seems OK, but not screamingly great. More RAM and Vista 64 would be better.
-
@kflanagan um, that machine does come with Vista x64, which I'm glad you brought up. I don't want Windows.
-
@douglasawh Vista 64 isn't bad, I use it to host Vmware Server, various other OSes from there. Vmware Srvr on *IX is a pain
-
@kflanagan I just don't want to needlessly give MS my money. I'd put Ubuntu (or Linux Mint or Debian) on it anyway...
-
@douglasawh Good luck not having Windows on a new machine. Unless you build it, these days tht's not a big savings either.
-
@kflanagan System76, Lenovo, Dell, ZaReason all offer machines w/o Windows. money's not the real reason though. puffed up MS market share is
-
@douglasawh I have 2 home built, and 2 HP, Although I'm a big Open src advocate, it's all about the right tool,RHEL taking hold @ work
-
@kflanagan was having issues w/ Skype so tested on Win but that turned out to be wireless issue. just have to plug in to use it on my router
-
@douglasawh Generally I don't need Win, but sometimes it's a lot easier.
