Observation: the longer I go without shaving, the smoother the shave is once I finally do.

@tamasrepus Yes, i have noticed the same too. If i shave everyday, i would irritate my skin.

@filippobovo What kind of shaving instrument do you use? Safety razor, disposable blades, electric shaver, etc...?

@tamasrepus Currently just the Wilkinson or Gillette's razors. I have used the electric shaver but not satisfied about the results.

@filippobovo The Gillette seem to give the closest and comfortable for my money. Never been a fan of elec.

@brianbenenhaley I think the same: i don't like the electric razors. Gillette is very good, even better than Wilkinson.

@filippobovo Have any experience with German safety razors? Wondering if those are any better (their blades stay sharper for longer)

@tamasrepus Yes, german ones are very good, better than british ones, according to my experience.
