Interesting thread about !docs in Meego. Can they be swayed from using Robohelp? :/ http://is.gd/b8KsE !wosdocs #meego

@j1mc Sometimes it takes people a while to understand why "unable to build from source" is a really big deal. Patience and persistence.
-
@j1mc A proprietary help tool for an open source project?!
-
@j1mc And FWIW, I tried to get somebody from Moblin to come to the Desktop Help Summit. Nobody seemed interested.
-
@j1mc RoboHelp's webhelp framework is proprietary; not good for FOSS projects. OmniHelp is the only FOSS format for Javascript-y webhelp IKO
-
@shaunm @j1mc This idea of #meego being a "first opening of code" is worth considering http://bit.ly/bRYyGa
-
@j1mc Huzzah! I don't think I've ever met Ian Lawrence, but he's my hero of the day. http://ur1.ca/spf9

@quaid Yeah, just read that, and it's fair. Can't expect everything to go completely community overnight. As long as it's on the radar.
-
@j1mc Robo? In a FOSS project? If push comes to shove, there's a DocBook stylesheet that can output RoboHelp-like WebHelp, not as fancy tho
-
@shaunm My glance? I'm impressed by the discussion; it's constructive and the open source way. This is all happening better than RHL=>Fedora
-
@quaid So how would you argue "unable to build from source" is a big deal?
-
@quaid Have you seen the community management wiki Skud started? http://is.gd/baYuy - I've been documenting "Community antipatterns" there
