@douglasawh Has using envy not helped? It seems to do a good job of detecting, downloading, configuring and installing nvidia drivers.
-
@jobias I think the issue is there is still ATI stuff hanging around. I did install envy, but I'm guessing I need to run something too?
-
@douglasawh...seem to remember something called 'envyng' if thats any help?
-
@jkt yeah, I installed envyng-core. I didn't run anything though. I'm about to head home from work, so, I'll look into more tomorrow
-
@douglasawh: Whats the problem?
-
@douglasawh: i have nvidia working fine on jaunty and hardy !ubuntu
-
@douglasawh: me too... mine is a 8600M GT and it's working flawlessly
-
@vitorboschi @kimus thanks for responses. I'll look into it again tomorrow and see if I can get something working from command line
-
@douglasawh: cat .xsession-errors?
-
@wally I won't get to work for like 9 hours or more, but I'll check when I get there
-
@wally that may prove to be very insighful. metacity was giving errors, but I don't have them fixed yet
