Whoops, forgot to make an initrd. That's why you keep the old kernel around ;)
-
@djharuko How do you find Slackware? My concern: the Y2K compliant entry on the FAQ page suggests less than active development.
-
@djharuko Forgot the link. http://www.slackware.com/faq/do_faq.php?faq=general
-
@madalu It's easily my favorite and preferred distro. WAY faster than Ubuntu on my Eee, gave me more space, and rock solid.
-
@madalu It's under extremely active development, actually. ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-current/ChangeLog.txt

@djharuko Thanks for the link. I've heard people say that Arch is the new Slackware. True?
-
@madalu I haven't tried Arch Linux. Looks like it's very similar (even the init script setup), but is a rolling release.
-
@madalu My only concern with Slack is when the heck are they going to make the 64-bit leap?
-
@madalu Allowing myself to reply to an earlier post of yours: Slackware is actually fairly active in development.
-
@madalu See Changelog: ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackware/slackware-current/ChangeLog.txt - and additional packages from Slackbuilds.org.
