@ciarang and what I use to pour the water over myself is a 5-cents souvenir from Peshawar ;)

@ciarang, um - that's a shortened URL...?
-
@ciarang If you get stopped, say your daughter was driving. Worst she'll get is a year's ban, which is hardly a problem for her.
-
@dwd Yeah, I've tried to use that excuse before: http://ciarang.com/wpg2?g2_itemId=38
-
@ciarang I'm sorry to say I can't think of a single witty or amusing thing to say about that. Nor can you, no doubt.
-
@ciarang planetciaran-tastic!
-
@dwd what would you suppose for bigger setups? i liked the well-working #icq-transport in #openfire !xmpp
-
@finkregh go for isode or processone for commercial, or Cisco (Jabber) if you have big $'s
-
@dwd: Is both large *and* scary required?
-
@ralphm Either, or both.
-
@xsteadfastx have you heard about non-organic open source? Watch Sun ;-)
-
@ciarang appears to have vanished again. I'm only saying this to stop him being grumpy when he returns, though.
-
@ciarang Java and Scalable. Two words not often seen in the same dictionary.
-
@dwd Do you not have the Oxford Dictionary of Oxymorons then?
-
@ciarang I have the slimmed down IT-specific one, with "Readable Erlang", "Perl Release", and "Javascript Architecture".
-
@kev ahh - that explains why my thread has holes in it then - thanks!
-
@bear As it is written: "For lo, didst @ciarang spake from afar, and his voice did sound like thunder."
Andy C likes this. -
Looking for a name to register my next startup as. Currently: OpenSheep Networks Ltd. Any better ideas? @dwd ?
-
@ciarang but learning to grow your own food - and actually growing it - is fun and useful; buying 100 cabbages won't teach you that
-
@ciarang but why planting? growing from seed would be much more economical
-
@marjoleink Good point - because I am too late/lazy for seed. Planted lots of beetroot seeds at the same time though. Onions tomorrow.
-
@ciarang I missed planting a few cloves of garlic cause my balcony was being renovated - growing your own (even a few in a bucket!) is fun
-
@ciarang and if you don't eat them, they make beautiful flowers :D
-
@ciarang garlic rocks - home-grown garlic rocks even more ;)
-
@ciarang me neither, but the best is still the few garlic bulbs I manage to grow in a bucket on my balcony!
-
@ciarang Testing
-
@ciarang The same one that causes most FOSDEM presentations to be made on OS X, of course.
-
@ciarang ...and it's permanently on so you can scroll indefinitely back in time ?
-
@ciarang You don't need a lot of blutack. Just enough to hold it until the clamp gets into position, then it'll "lift" it off the tray.
-
@ciarang So I suspect that, done carefully, your wife's idea might work.
-
@ciarang Exactly. I wish it wasn't so. I could get so much more input. Oh, wait, I'm not supposed to be doing that anyway :)
-
@ciarang "Send your daughter away so you can work done day", you mean. I call it "School".
-
@dwd Yes, but school is not a concept I approve of
-
@ciarang Actually, that reads like marketing to me, and certainly misses out on the most obvious use for MySQL I thought of.
-
@ciarang Me - what ? Whistles innocently.
-
@ciarang Seriosly, I guess other clients may provide a richer experience (avatars). I use gTalk classic with no avatars.
-
@ciarang it's tap water ad the inside temperature is 20+ degrees centigrade :D
