d evan ready?
Monday, 18-Aug-08 21:06:35 UTC from web-
@windley skype is acting up, gimme 5 mins.
-
@evan Something's wrong with search. A search on Norway only gives me one result (both people and text)!
-
@evan thanks for the hint about twisted4life - I can use that!
-
added "from ryghsms" to the posting to identica. thanks @evan - I used the old API-url... Now with the new, it works!
-
@evan While logging in I got the following: "Signature method 'PLAINTEXT' not supported."
-
@evan yes, having current time zone as public field (ideally can filter on it) would be interesting. a proxy for geographocally near to me
-
@evan What do you think about adding URL expansion like Twitter? http://search.twitter.com/search?q=tinyurl I'd be happy to work on it.
-
@evan I would like to see these twitter commands introduced to xmpp, http://tinyurl.com/244nc6 #featurerequest
-
@evan: assume you didn't find CR answer. This should drop right in: http://pastebin.com/f470576db
-
@forteller Jaja, får se når jeg slipper inn. Jeg har kontoer på så mange tjenester rundt om kring, og de fleste er nesten helt like. ;)
-
@evan Thx for link
-
@evan talking about identi.ca in my class on microblogging tomorrow:)
-
@evan is something up with text search? 2 results for this seems wrong: http://identi.ca/search/people?q=sydney
-
@millette I know timezones are shared - IF you don't use UTC like I do - location is *where* you are; when I'm in Viet Nam I'd still use UTC
-
@millette besides, some timezones are huge - Beijing timezone spans >3 natural timezones (so some people use local clock) - TZ != location
-
@millette TZ != longitude either - it's just a convention for local clocks but effectively meaningless for anything outside that.
-
@millette and with huge timezones like Beijing, the sun has nothing to do with it either (that's why people start using local clocks)
-
@millette maybe only if you have traveled through such TZs do you realize just how meaningless they are; no semantics, only local convention
-
@oceanpark Oh, cool!
-
@seanmurphy We have a pretty strong contingent _against_ making small URLs. See http://laconi.ca/trac/ticket/31
-
@rjeffries But we already have a "location" field. We could use that for "near me".
-
@evan I agree that the UI could use some love. The text is too small and the rest is kinda boring. I like speechbubbles used in other µblogs
