     @candrews publicity? but it's so easy to connect Identica account with twitter and fbook. Perhaps the reason is as simple as ignorance?

     @candrews not hard thing to fathom at all. It's called inertia. plus it has a bigger audience for marketing. regrettable, but not complex

     @evan another approach (maybe later in the game) would be to invite them to other "federated" (possibly topical or regional) laconica sites.

     It would be nice for #identica to have twitter's user base @evan. But Identica's grown quite fast hasn't it?
