     @psyk3d: Didn't know about that one. Am trying this now though: http://tinyurl.com/294nhpk Headphone jack works fine but speakers don't.

     @psyk3d: No. Still can't figure out why settings won't stick. I'm a member of all the right groups. Is this a common prob?

     @darkn00b: yeah more or less! i just found a tut on arch forums which asked me to put alsactl restore in my /etc/rc.local . didn't test yet

     @darkn00b : sorry for the uber late reply! but no i couldn't find a fix :( but since my suspend/resume is fixed now it hardly bothers me!
