@astralinsomnia -- they show all the albums we have for that artist, and the number of plays for that artist.
-
@mattl how can i "scrobble"? how can i add artists bio and information and all that?
-
@mattl also how could I submit my bands albums to !librefm they're all free under cc license !ccmusic http://www.lorenzosmusic.com
-
@tmray -- non-commercial license is not free. if you removed that, we would promote the hell out of you :)
-
@tmray oops...not going to stop us from doing an open music event. copyright reform is important whether it's free or not
-
@daw -- it's not that i "don't like it" -- it's that it isn't free :)
-
@mattl is it just the straight cc license thats needed?
-
@tmray -- BY or BY-SA -- i recommend the BY-SA
-
@daw -- you should do a free music event, just like you should support #freesoftware and not #opensource :)
-
@mattl I'm no lawyer, but I'm concerned Exxon/Microsoft/Nike etc could/would use my art for promotional materials if I didn't release w/ -NC
-
@daw -- if they did, it would be ShareAlike -- think of the fun you could have as an artist with Exxon or Nike's work :D

@cchristoph that's a new one to me :)
-
@tmray -- yes. and in reality, if your music is what makes the end result good, and they are required to credit you, people will find out :)
-
@mattl hahaha that last statement was ment for you not myself :D
-
@tmray -- think about it. if you're willing to make free music, libre music, i and !librefm will do lots of things to make noise about that

@mattl Noticed !librefm had download links for some of the tracks I was playing. Is it only licenses that pass the freedomdefined.org test?
-
@mattl ... & is collecting the licensing metadata and audio files a manual process, or or you doing something semantic webby?
-
@daw you wanted Ogg Vorbis format, you can actually get it now: http://peteprodoehl.bandcamp.com/
-
I just bought @raster's latest album from peteprodoehl.bandcamp.com! You should too. He uses a "pay what you want" model for HQ copies.
