   I wonder why more people don't use #XMPP for their application messaging. Why do so many companies try to reinvent this wheel?

     @reality it also has it downside; luckily for the mobile market they introduced Binary XMPP xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0239.html #LOL ;-)

     @jbowes hahaha no :-). XML is the only part of it I don't like :-) ... but luckily it's abstract away.
