Started to get drawn into a Linux vs. GNU/Linux debate, but decided better of it. Silly waste of time. Get over it, move on.

@jzb: I believe a future computer user looses a bit more of their freedom every time you enter that debate. Hard to avoid though.
-
@bkuhn Great policy! :)
-
@jzb a narrow miss, linux vs gnu/linux a worthless topic... now vim/emacs that's where the fun is!
-
@bkuhn If you (or RMS) want to *say* GNU/Linux, more power to you - but "correcting" others is a waste of time.
-
@bkuhn if RMS & others reserved the spiel for when people ask "why do you say it that way?" it'd be better + more effective.
-
@jzb Agreed as well.
-
@jzb nobody tries to say GNU/BSD. Yet they still use the GNU compiler (at until in they switch to clang)
-
@hub this issue was explained by @rms at http://www.gnu.org/gnu/linux-and-gnu.html#gnubsd
-
@bkuhn: Might want to check your language before sending it off. Your dent is rather amusing. :-)
-
@bkuhn The whole debate is preposterous and makes me want to switch to uclibc/busybox/linux :P (it's an annoying debate in all seriousness)
-
@jzb Agreed. I respect his message, but the way he presents it hard to take seriously.
-
@bkuhn I'm OK with that.
-
@mtrausch, Mild dyslexia makes me bad w/ homonyms;I might've fallen for that one b/c I expected to be shown the 'c'itation to be a web's'ite
-
@losinggeneration,I don't generally debate it anymore,other than to suggest different advocacy style for !gnu / !linux side: lead by example
-
@bkuhn I'd honestly wager that this debate will be similar to the BSD vs GPL debate that people will continue on for years to come.
-
@losinggeneration I get a feeling the best we're going to get on this is LiGNUx: a little odd (and that capitalisation has to go) but usable
-
@thisisabore heh, I think I like that better than GNU/Linux. LiGNUx has a nice ring to it...
-
@bkuhn: No biggie. We all do it; just that when we do, it reminds us that there's more to it all then red squigglies. :)
-
@fabsh: I think strict would have been non-jovial, at the very least.
-
@mtrausch Maybe.... ;)
-
@bkuhn softie. i know it's really a request, not something you can demand, so i tend to only "correct" …
