     @garrison, I use: adb pull data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts.db . Do same for mmssms.db & telephony.db !android

     @bkuhn it'd be nice to have an XMPP-based ContactsProvider, so the nice autosync worked without depending on Google to store contacts

     @bkuhn thanks, that helps me a lot :) but i will consider this bug open until non-hackers can just as easily bypass google services !android

     @garrison, I can't tell if the first part of your dent is sarcastic or not. But, I agree, better #FaiF !android applications are needed.

     @garrison by pass what !android services??? no one makes you use them! I can even put a rom that doesn't have any Google Experience apps

     @garrison, I'm glad. I haven't tried adding entries w/ sqlite & putting DB back on the phone, but it should probably work ok.

     @bugabundo try cyanogenmod, they had to remove Google's !android apps under dmca threat. I've been enjoying my phone without their cruft
