Note to self: If you need to run graphical applications from the terminal, use "gksudo". !bash !zsh !linux !ubuntu #graphicalsudo
-
@jabz why, though? I've never found a situation where sudo doesn't work but gksudo does !linux #graphicalsudo
-
@sohumb If you use regular sudo you might end up typing your password in the wrong window for whatever reason might occur.
-
@tiktook One shouldn't need sudo or gksudo to run a graphical application anyway. Or which applications need it?
-
@vinc17 Wireshark does, and so does gparted and any other application that is capable of seriously endangering the system security.
