@technosexy I had good results introducing beginners to !Mandriva !Linux. YMMV.

@technosexy !Ubuntu is very popular with beginners. The community is awesome, especially this week: ur1.ca/3ver
-
@technosexy !Ubuntu —wrong link. I meant ur1.ca/3e1z
Yinka likes this. -
@technosexy Linux Mint!
-
@speedboy Ubuntu or Mint of course.
-
@technosexy (You'll probably hear this one a lot) I recommend Ubuntu, especially for beginners.
-
@technosexy /me suggests Kubuntu http://www.kubuntu.org
-
@technosexy I second the !Ubuntu recommendation. It is a good initial setup, for new and advanced users alike.

@mtrausch @gregknicholson @claudeb Thanks guys, I will start with !Ubuntu and take it from there
-
@speedboy yes I didn't notice I chose the wrong poster
-
@technosexy What are you interested in? !Linux as a server? Linux on the desktop? Ubuntu/Kubuntu for the desktop, Debian for a server, IMO.
-
At this time, @daverankin, I'm interested in !Linux as a desktop and will try !Ubuntu. Thanks
-
@daverankin heresy i say! ubuntu is for the impatient. debian makes a great desktop os. of course i'll be loading 9.04 on my desktop...
