      @bkuhn I agree that FLOSS should not encourage discrimination, but it may be perfectly acceptable in some cultures. FLOSS is cross-cultural

      @noahm, I am not a cultural relativist. I believe some things are so harmful to people they should not be tolerated by any just community.

      @bkuhn The acknowledgment that cultures are different (and that it is good!) does not imply that everything in every culture is acceptable.

      @bkuhn As the Debian thread shows, age discrimination is quite acceptable in parts of Europe. Yet we tolerate Europeans in FLOSS.
