      @jpfox looks like a late april fools joke. Even facebook and livejournal use xmpp for chat, but a websockets based custom chat protocol?!?

      @jpfox like xmpp pubsub, except with a custom protocol, and the websockets paragraph clearly states its for chat. Research "xmpp bosh".

      @arc right, but why do you find using a different protocol so stupid ? http server is easiest to install than xmpp one, for lambda user

      @jpfox Its classic NIH syndrome. Plus there are hundreds of federated xmpp servers, including google and livejournal.

      @ronnypfannschmidt if websockets was standardized xmpp would be used over it, but its far from deployable right now. Bosh is good enough.
