I mean, these are people that refuse to use Windows and Macs, use vi and vim over normal IDEs, but they'll use Twitter over Identi.ca???

@evan at least the Macbook is based on open source software for several pieces (BSD, Konqueror). I'm guilty of that myself.

@thomallen I'm not knocking the attendies. I'm questioning why more of them aren't using Identi.ca. I'm suggesting they take a stand.

@jessestay as I said, identi.ca isn't the only answer. it lacks a lot of features Twitter has, so, I can see why they stay put.

@thomallen my point is however that if they truly support OSS they have a responsibility to contribute the features they would like to see.

@thomallen, I personally have sacrificed things so I could use Linux on my desktop before. That's the OSS principle - sacrifice for open.
