@theuser Debian Sid's has deps kdelibs4c2a and libqt3-mt. No !kde 4, but doesn't drag in too much kde 3

@theuser I've no idea about upstream and whether a !kde 4 port is in the works

@warbo It seems a !kde 4 port of basket is underway again: http://is.gd/zdQ5

@alvarocarroz @warbo !kde 4 port of basket has been worked on for nearly 2 years. They're short on devs. It's sad :(

@astromme Maybe I can help, but I have no experience in !kde development. Certainly would like to learn

@alvarocarroz Feel free to visit http://techbase.kde.org for the developer side. !KDE uses C++ but has bindings for many other langs

@alvarocarroz Unless you have experience in a larger project I wouldn't recommend jumping straight into basket. play around some first :)

@astromme I have experience in large projects, just no open source projects. Will that do?

@alvarocarroz it's pretty simple to develop !qt/!kde with some C++ knowledge

@theuser Nice, maybe I can learn something and help with basket in the process.

@alvarocarroz It's for you to decide :). I think basket uses c++, so that might be a requirement, but you can learn as you go maybe.

@alvarocarroz Once upon a time (2 years ago) I hacked around with basket. I had almost no large scale experience (read nothing) at the time

@alvarocarroz I ended up realizing that I needed to start with the basics, and ended up doing the #RTM plasmoid and other small things.

@astromme Thanks. guess I'll survive without Basket for now. With Plasma, there should be lots of potential for more desktop integration.
