85% of faculty & residents surveyed had never used RSS, 52% didn't know what it was (at U of Alberta) #wilu09
-
@jenc: I'm shocked that almost half even know what RSS is
-
@dbs: it totally flabbergasts me. I use RSS *all the time*.
-
@dbs There were also some who knew what it was when described, just not by RSS name.
-
@adr: yes, but you and I are deep into geek territory
-
@pmlozeau: So? ARE YOU SUGGESTING THAT THAT IS AN UNREALISTIC THING TO ASK PEOPLE TO DO? Bah!
-
@adr How many times in your life have you set a VCR for somebody else? :-)
-
@pmlozeau: Well, often enough. But yeah. Blinking 12:00 problem I guess.
-
@jenc: Most nerdos I know use it. I think anyway.
-
@jenc: sure, blog aggregators (http://planet-php.net and the like) are certainly popular outside libraries; rss is hidden though.
-
@jenc That's why we have partial e-mail subscriptions for the LISNews podcasts. For some, that is easier than RSS.
-
@pmlozeau à la tienne! :-) Délicieusement bien fraîche...
