   HTML5 has no way to specify a version, and the XHTML syntax incorrectly re-uses the XHTML 1.x namespace.

     @jbowtie: XHTML5 reuses the XHTML1 NS because it's a revision of the same language. XHTML2 isn't, so the XHTML2 WG should mint a new NS URI.
