For some reason, @racheltwofish and I are trying to remember the story line of Blue Lagoon.
-
@michaeltwofish I'm thinking Brooke Shields. I'm thinking desert island. I'm thinking sun. I thinking sand. I thinking partial nudity.
-
@andyc Correct on all counts. But they were cousins, which, though it happens in probably all of our family trees, is odd to put in a film
-
@michaeltwofish Did these cousins enjoy sexual union ? Or just share coconut milk ?
-
@andyc They had a kid together.
-
@michaeltwofish Was it malformed with a protruding tongue and oversized ears ?
-
@michaeltwofish Maybe this is why Brooke Shields lost her way and turned to God. She had an innate fear of in-breeding. And coconut milk.

@michaeltwofish In Australia it's completely legal to marry your cousin, your uncle, your aunt; or indeed any non-immediate blood relative.
-
@jarich I mean no disrespect to cousins who marry or in other ways choose to liaise. I'm not a Habsburg but I'm sure there's history there.
-
@michaeltwofish @jarich May be legal but it certainly isn't sensible or desirable - http://ur1.ca/1aztm
