@edythemighty Hehe, it seems like it but there's no reason why open source has to == hard. A lot of people use that as an excuse I think

@dantheman I didn't explicitly state open source == hard. But you have to admit,

@dantheman open source projects focus on functionality first, actual UI design as an afterthought....

@edythemighty bridged networking is a big piece of functionality that virtualbox is missing.

@cdavis But it does the job in every other area, eh? ;D

@edythemighty Maybe. I don't use it because of lacking feature I want.

@cdavis I don't use it because I don't believe in virtualization ;) One machine has a hardware failure, all your VMs on that machine go down

@edythemighty Oh yeah I don't disagree except in this case it's the fact that functionality seems to be lacking, not just a GUI problem

@edythemighty When I said people use it as an excuse, I meant developers not users. They don't seem to consider usability a lot of the time

@dantheman Agreed on the dev thing...not to insult all y'all who happen to be devs here on identi.ca <http://identi.ca/> ;)

@dantheman I am right there with you. I want to be able to connect my son's mp3 player wireless but I need the bridge to do it.

@cdavis: There is a way to get VirtualBox networked. I can't remember if it had bridging or not. Maybe it did. Tap device.

@xpistos Cool thanks, that would be appreciated. I followed this guide https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VirtualBox#Networking no luck yet

@dantheman Great 53rd ep of Linux Outlaws. I empathize w/ Fab's loss of bandwidth. I've had a similar experience and it is Not Fun.
