@snapl agree, that isn't the way to do things. kinda like "let us find other buddies of yours from your email, just give us your pw"

@greg & @snapl: Yeah, I had the same response. Since I use OpenID on identi.ca, it makes even less sense.

@snapl They don't need your password for friendfeed, right? So there's the difference….

@snapl how did you think that pingfm could post to the other services as you without proper creds?

@greg @snapl It's all in the API of the other services. The APIs have to support a auth method that's not just user/pass.

@michaelramm: OpenID was designed for just this thing

@greg I know and agree, but that is not the way of the world...yet

@greg OpenID will never work for this because you have to go to the provider's site to login once to 'open' your creds.

@fmars: I don'tthink you can post to twitter / identi.ca from friendfeed, so it doesn't matter. Read-only access doesn't require credentials

@snapl I know that you CAN post to twitter from friendfeed. I do it all of the time, you can create a comment into a @ reply.

@michaelramm @snapl but you cant't "create" a tweet from FF, just reply to someone's. not yet anway
