this has me baffled .. i'm finding a noindex tag in template header source but I don't see it on robots.txt or in any of the php pages.
-
@joemagennis sounds like you're using wordpress or another cms? check your plugins
-
@danielmclark .. yeah WP, thats what ive just started diggin in to. So I scour the plugin editor pages?
-
@joemagennis i wouldn't mess with the plugins code first thing, better to disable them and refresh the page to see if noindex is still there
-
@joemagennis if it's gone, you know it's a plugin, so reactivate them all, then disable them one by one until you find the one that...
-
@joemagennis ...makes it go away :)
-
@danielmclark .. ok cool, thanks I'll give that a go
-
@joemagennis oh, check your general WP options, too... there's a box in there for disabling search engine indexing, could be on accidentally
-
@danielmclark .. I owe you beer!! In the privacy settings somehow it was selected to block!
-
@danielmclark .. dude thanks a bunch, that last second thought of yours saved me tons of time! That would have been the last place I looked
-
@joemagennis awesome! glad i could help!
