Some think I confuse #Open_Core w/ #proprietary_relicensing. I don't actually;distinction just matters little. Blog at: http://ur1.ca/244dn

@bkuhn so what, people think your confusing one #disturbing thing with another #disturbing thing? Call a spade a spade both are #harmful
-
@fontana, I know for an absolute fact #Larry_Wall intended ArtisticV1 to be !FaiF. In practice, it probably is, since it's full of holes.
-
@fontana, of course. #jQuery devs tell me they did it b/c GPL users had trouble understanding GPL compatibility. #Disturbing but that's why.
-
@bkuhn Perhaps because the definition of "GPL compatibility" has been poorly communicated, or arbitrarily defined...?
-
Amazied but not surprised: ppl take 140 chars of a dent, ignore thread & attack those chars as strawman. Wish identica supported plonk better
-
@lnxwalt280 Given the use to which it has been put historically, probably not. But certain management wanted to head that way.
-
@lefty Well, @mjasay is the guy the wrote the "FOSS-washing HOWTO: ensure that your community edition has no community" http://ur1.ca/248g6
-
@bkuhn In the recent EU discussions, it seems that #mixedmodel is becoming a term for #opencore | #proprietary_relicensing, maybe co-opt it?
-
@bkuhn RE: "no one knows what #Open_Core is exactly". Try "What is open core licensing (and what isn’t) UPDATED" http://bit.ly/9Ka8DS
-
@bkuhn Been following this. Not sure Canonical is in right or no, but pretty simple solution:don't like copyright assignment-don't contribute
-
@djotaku If enough people stop contributing-no more Ubuntu until they change their ways. Also, dent is annoying for comments..too few chars
