   i'm having trouble with message indicator in !kde, is it possible to disable it and use the old notification system?

     @sredna sorry, that's not what I want. my problem is with the message-indicator applet, not the notifications itself.

     @melissawm Right click on the ( i ) icon -> Notification Settings -> uncheck Application notifications and File transfers and other jobs.

     @mogger thanks but that's not what i needed. I couldn't restore kopete once it had been hidden; it's fixed now, thanks.

     @skreech2 remove the message indicator then look into app settings and choose "use systray icon" or something like that (worked in kopete)
