@flameeyes not sure why that indicates success as audio-only format. do any browsers support .mka for <audio>? open bugs to do so?

@flameeyes I don't, will take your word on technical superiority. unfortunately that's not enough to make a format worthwhile investment

@mlinksva see the point is that there is no "investment": anything that can decode WebM/mkv can decode mka… VLC, xine, mplayer, …

@flameeyes that's heartening. There's still lots of investment in configuration (eg Jamendo producing ogg) and marketing...

@flameeyes Note that WebM is a subset of Matroska. Support for WebM does not necessarily mean support for MKA

@flameeyes (Though everyone just uses their pre-existing Matroska demuxer rather than create a new one just for WebM)

@oshepherd afaict, the WebM subset is pretty much what you need for mka support (which is _also_ a subset)

@mlinksva let's be honest: on a pure technical plane, Ogg is a crappy solution… lacks feature, tries to "go around" issues, and so on…
