@avery As someone very active in LGBT-based communities, I think it's important think to allow trans users to display themselves as such.

Ah, @friendika reminded me... besides "they" we also need to have an option for "it" for profiles that are actually bots. Important stuff.

@avery Do us a favor and read up on Gender Identity Disorder; read some trans blogs and accounts of personal struggles before you speak up.

@deadsuperhero What does a blank gender box DO? You can write gender messages anywhere; you can't specify linguistic gender anywhere.

@avery The concept of gender trinary, rather than the gender fluidity itself. That is obsolete in a trans-inclusive society.

@avery assumption: you mean linguistic gender. To that I say; a text field reflects reality, English doesn't.
